Someone once said that Don Rickles was too offensive to be offensive. That someone was right. Unlike George Carlin - all that hate, especially when talking about religion, came from deep belief -, Rickles is performing an act. A funny one indeed, but you know and you feel he didn't mean to really offend absolutely no one with all those jew, black, Italian, Iranian and even Lithuanian jokes. He was sarcastically called Mr. Warmth, but ironically everyone who knew him confirmed that to be a spot on adjective to describe him behind the stages.
