Make no mistake: this is a sci-fi gem that deserves to be spoken of alongside the genre’s greats. Though the screenplay didn’t originate from Terry Gilliam, his fingerprints are all over it, as the plot dives headfirst into time travel, diseases and global collapse, making it all chaotic and dirty, yet, weirdly grounded. Brad Pitt steals the show in one of his most unhinged and unpredictable performances: a dangerous lunatic that somehow manages to be both hilarious and disturbing. Oh, and loved the ambiguity at the end.
