It's a provocative exploration of human violence and the thin line between civilization and barbarity. That thin line is a beautiful girl with a short dress without a bra underneath it, of course. That being said, still not a fan of Sam Peckinpah's form of developing his characters and the way all his scripts seem to be missing a couple of pages for us to fully understand the how's and the why's of most of his characters' motivations. But hey, give him violence and a rape scene, and you won't get anything more realistic, repulsive and visceral for decades.
