Misery (1990)

Kathy Bates runs the show as the psycho and insane Annie Wilkes, being able to create almost alone a tense and claustrophobic atmosphere all around. Well deserved Oscar, no doubt about it. No idea how faithful the movie is to Stephen King's book, but it certainly works great on screen as a psychological thriller about obsession, isolation and fandom(ism). Some visual impactful scenes - that hammer on James Caan feet - and a lovely sort of funny chemistry between sheriff Buster and his (horny) wife.
