I think this would have been a much more interesting and nerve-racking movie if we were not sure if there was really a body in that chest. If there was any kind of doubt if Brandon and Phillip were just playing around or actual lunatic murderers. Hitchcock's first color movie, one of the infamous "five lost Hitchcocks", a technical masterpiece of long and fluid takes in a small set. Fell in love with the beautiful Joan Chandler and can't really understand why she didn't become a household name after this role.
